House Hunting Chapter 1

And it BEGINS.....We officially have a little over 90 days to be in contract to buy a house to get the tax credit and close by July 1st, so the hunt is on. We have been looking online for months and have a realtor that is a family friend of the Rolfe's helping us find the perfect house.

Here are a two that we have our eye on. Both are in downtown Plymouth in our dream neighborhood. One is across the street from our friends Tim and Kaarina. They both have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The only problem? They are a little out of our price range. Even though we figure we will probably be pre-approved for more, we would like to stay under 200,000, so I can eventually quit my job and stay at home and we can afford everything with just Travis' income. But, we are watching them closely....

In Farmington Hills, we found this house online. I have to share the pictures with you. This house is almost 3,000 sq. feet: 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, finished basement with 2 wet bars and granite in all three bathrooms as well as the kitchen. The price? 150,000! Has to be to good to be true, right? It was listed on Sunday and our realtor called the listing agent yesterday to make an appointment for us to see it only to find out it already had FIVE offers on it!!!! Looks like someone wanted to start a bidding war to drive up the price...we were bummed!:(

Stay tuned for more....its exciting...but stressful!:)

That's a great house in Farmington Hills, especially for the price. Who knows if the other bidders are serious? Check it out!

Love the Farmington house! It looks great. Lots of good options on the market around 150,000 right now :) keep us updated, I remember how hard it was going back and forth with online listings, realtor, visits, and mortgage stuff. We were happy we found one in a lower price range so we didn't have to worry if our finances changed at all. I'm sure you'll find the perfect house :)
